The first face you’ll see in the video below is that of artist Judy Chicago – whose startling The Dinner Party blew a lot of minds, from art critics to the House of Representatives. Filmmaker Lyn Hershman Leeson’s !Women Art Revolution, called “a terrific sampler of underexposed feminist art” by New York Magazine, tells the story of visionary artists like Chicago as they shattered preconceptions 25 years ago. Through intimate interviews, art, and rarely seen archival film and video footage, !Women Art Revolution “reveals how the Feminist Art Movement fused free speech and politics into an art that radically transformed the art and culture of our times.”
