With all the news from the last week — the royal wedding, the death of Osama bin Laden — one big story that has faded in our consciousness too soon is the recovery effort in the South after huge tornadoes devastated many neighborhoods and communities. The people who live in Alabama and the people who have responded to help them do not have the luxury of forgetting. They continue to sift through the rubble, looking for missing loved ones and trying to figure out how to rebuild. Among those working countless hours are Tracy Sargent of K9 Search and Rescue Specialists and her dogs Cinco, Chance and Randy. She gave the Associated Press a glimpse of her work in the Alabama recovery effort.
