We all knew that dieting made us cranky. But now there is scientific evidence to support this.

A study published in Bloomberg News suggests that serious discussions between spouses shouldn’t take place on an empty stomach.

This article focuses on scientific information linking low blood sugar and marital fighting. “Missing a meal, dieting, or just being hungry” may the cause of the low blood sugar.  Alcohol wasn’t mentioned, but alcohol is converted to sugar, which causes a spike in insulin, which manages that sugar and often results in low blood sugar after the alcohol-sugar has been quickly metabolized.

So here’s another reason to give a hung-over spouse lots of time to sober up and have a good meal before tackling tricky subjects.
