The Women’s March Illustrated: Eight Prizewinning Posters

Tens of thousands of women are marching in Washington, New York, and other cities this Saturday to force attention to a not-always-acknowledged truth: WOMEN’S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS. The Amplifier Foundation, a nonprofit organization that “partners with . . . advocacy organizations to create visual campaign with artists, journalists, and storytellers to help move their messages through the world” is helping the marchers elaborate on that theme: They’ll be carrying posters bearing slogans like OUR BODIES, OUR MINDS, OUR POWER and RESPETA MI EXISTENCIA O ESPERA RESISTENCIA (Respect My Existence or Expect Resistance). The foundation chose these artworks from among the 5, 000 sent in as a response to its invitation to artists to render the cause graphically. At the Amplifier site you can volunteer to distribute the posters at the Inauguration and the march, and even download and print the posters.
