On Love and Lust

Lust is just a passing urge;
Love is the desire to merge.

Lust will take but will not give;
Love is more demonstrative.

Lust can never get enough;
Love can take the rare rebuff.

Lust gets up and leaves at dawn;
Love’s embrace is not withdrawn.

Lust is loath to get involved;
Love wants any snag resolved.

Lust has pleasure as its goal;
Love is in it heart and soul.

Lust is merely copular . . .
Which makes it much more popular.
