In this, our fourth Fashion Friday posting, we welcome the winter-basics suggestions of Sue De Chiara, who runs the wildly popular blog “The Zhush.”

Hi—I’m Sue from the The Zhush and the online shop zhush.com. I’m here today to talk about my five winter fashion go to items. Winter in New York is my least favorite season: Given the choice, I would rather stay inside until the end of March.  Of course, becoming a hermit is not really practical—or probably even healthy—so when I do venture out, I like to be as warm as possible, without sacrificing style.

Warmth-with-style is what makes me stockpile  these colorblock sweaters by Vince this season.  They’re right on trend without looking too trendy, and they are super-soft, cozy, and warm.  You can find these sweaters here and here.

During the day, when I’m running errands or chauffeuring my three children around, it’s important that my feet and hands be warm.  I’ve started wearing these fun “keep in touch” gloves, which I carry here in my online shop, zhush.com.  They allow me to continue to use my iPhone without having to take off my gloves.  E-mails get sent, hands stay warm.

Nobody likes cold, wet feet, including me.  My obsession with Sorel boots has carried over from last winter. I love how they keep my feet warm and dry. My Sorels even give me a sense of security on slippery, icy surfaces—a must up in Vermont, where we spend most of our winter weekends.

For date nights and those winter events where I like to take things up a notch, style-wise, I love adding a bit of leopard to my cold-weather ensembles.  These fabulous driving gloves fit the bill quite nicely. You can find similar ones here.

Finally, when I’m not stomping around in my snow boots I practically live in my Rag & Bone Newbury Classic shoe boots.   The heel adds a little height for a dressier feel and these are super comfortable, versatile and warm.  Everything I look for in a great winter shoe! You can find these here.
