Functional in fabric yet ladylike in style, the cape coat achieves just the right balance of autumnal glamour. For the ultimate comfort, wrap yourself up in this rich-textured tweed poncho from ETRO. . . PastedGraphic-15French Connection Inverted Collar Trench Coat

Entrenched in Style: If volume is a trend you’d like to avoid, define your waist with a belted trench. While the trench coat is a timeless piece that is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour (see: Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca), this season the classic silhouette has undergone a bit of a makeover. From two-toned and leather-infused to colorful trims and bold prints, the reinvention of this topper can now suit every woman’s taste. For a look of understated femininity, try a collarless style such as this one from French Connection. . RELATED: The Trench Coat—A Fashion Icon . . PastedGraphic-16Zara Masculine Studio Overcoat . Calling Your Blush: While pink is seen by some as an all too overt signifier of femininity, this season’s approach to the color is much more subdued. Choosing the palest pinks to dusty damask hues, designers drenched their autumn collections with this rosy, cool toned palette.  This blush coat by Zara balances the hue’s inherent sweetness with a sharply tailored shape. . .

Love these coats!! I’m also loving the idea of a jacket worn in a sexy “what is she wearing under that” kind of way. . There’s a video about it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8i6rYQUQpU and I’m looking forward to rocking my new coat this fall!

Love these fall coats. I especially like the pale pink coat since it will be a great look for spring coats. Versatility! The capes are great statement pieces especially for taller women, sigh. Thanks for searching the Web to find these new looks, Caitlin.
