Fashion Friday: The Modern Woman

The definition of the “modern woman” is constantly shifting. Here at Women’s Voices, we are often asked by our readers what the 40-, 50-, 60 (etc.)-year-old “modern woman” might wear. Of course, the underlying factor should always be to wear what makes you feel your best (which you’ll find even more pleasurable than looking your best).

To help answer that question, we recently took a virtual shopping trip at SAKS.com to cull through the latest trends and classic looks for the modern woman. What we found is that the modern woman can be radiant in red (the Valentino Lace Dress below is our publisher Patricia Allen’s favorite: “I would wear it forever and ever,” she tells us). The MW can also embrace the greens and yellows of spring, rock the abstract and funky prints, and be simultaneously classic by sticking with the neutrals. Stay tuned for more Fashion Fridays where we continue to explore the style of the 21st-century modern woman. —Ed.
