Valentine’s Day might be over, but I believe that celebrating romance is not just for February. Showing love and accepting love are all-year-round endeavors. Every couple has a different approach. If you celebrate romance over a cozy dinner, it is most alluring to dress a bit demurely, but all-out feminine. Think “Charlotte” of Sex & the City, if you will. This ensemble I’ve put together at Polyvore.com mixes textures—leather and suede, silk and cotton brocade. I love the idea of wafting in a somewhat vintage perfume like Arpège. The red lace bra is the hint that later, the revels will continue. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyday! Here are some highlights below. You can view the full ensemble at Polyvore.com.
An exclusive peek at the looks from designers featured in the Mercedes-Benz Fall Fashion Week whose creations will be serving as inspiration for many of the more reasonably priced lines. Spoiler alert: the timeless marriage of black and white is back.
Thanks Ladies! I always enjoy putting these together for WVFC! The audience is large and varied, so it’s sometimes hard to please everyone, but I do my best :). Stacey, thanks for the ask!
Adorable. Not an outfit I’d wear myself, but an outfit I’d enjoy if I spotted it on another woman. Although that blouse with the hearts would totally work for my story time at the public library. Kids love it when you wear clothing with fun patterns. But if I wore that lovely white cardigan, I’d be sure to splash coffee on it. Dark colors aren’t as bright but they’re way more forgiving if you’re a coffee-sipping clutz like me.
Love the mix of texture, color and pattern. Each of these pieces are lovely but wearing them together gives you a whole other statement look.. The alice + olviia skirt is piece you can build so many looks upon.
