Get Grounded: Flats for the Spring Season

Spring is here, and that means it’s time to pack away the winter boots and booties and step into some comfy spring flats. We know many of you are wedded to your heels—no matter what the season—but once in a while it’s nice to feel grounded. In fact, with this spring’s trends in flats, we would venture to say that even the ultimate high-heel-loving lady will be tempted to take a break from the pumps. Whether you’re in work mode, weekend mode, commute mode, or casual-day running-errands mode, flats are a wonderful complement to dresses, skirts, jeans, leggings, and shorts. Here are some of our  favorites this season—artsy, stylish, functional, and  comfortable. And no, there is no black and white version listed here–we dare you to embrace color, unapologetically.

Lilboger, by Nine West.

The simplicity, coupled with the multi-color detailing in the back, makes this flat a work of art. Its rounded toe, ballerina aesthetic, 1/2″ heel, and nude color signify artsy style. Wear it for work, around town, or for casual days.

Mary Jane Pony Flat, by Marc Jacobs.

Cute as a button—literally. This pointed-toe Mary Jane flat with button detailing is a classic.

Zara Blue Slipper

Blue Soft Slipper, by Zara.

Cobalt blue is back this season as one of the beautiful colors for spring. Electric and bold, this soft and luxurious flat will add just the right kick of color to a monochromatic outfit.

Suede D’Orsay Flat, by Jenni Kayne.

Show some skin in this pointed-toe suede D’Orsay flat. Its triple-threat colors of burgundy, salmon, and ivory mean it’s versatile and easily adaptable.

Aaden Ballet Flat, by Tory Burch.

In this leather-and-gold-logo–embellished ballet flat, comfort meets glamour. And since purple is the color of royalty, you can dress this up or down, as First Lady Michelle Obama often does.
