In a word, yes. We can’t resist weighing in on the reports that Couric will leave CBS after January, with two years left on her contract.
From the beginning of her Evening News tenure in 2006, Couric has been a target for ridicule and criticism.
A few women spoke up passionately in her defense, such as Greta Van Susteren in Marie Claire magazine.
The fact is that Katie Couric has, and is, bringing an important voice to television news. Her team includes some of the best women journalists in the business, including Mary Alice Williams, her chief writer who some may remember from her WNBC and CNN days.
So do women in television face a double standard? Watch what ABC News’ Cynthia McFadden has to say, with thanks to BigThink.com.

I hope Katie doesn’t leave CBS News. There does seem to be sexism with these media jobs. Does she have the stamina to continue the uphill battle for two more years? It has to be hard to ignore the negative comments which continue to come her way.
I say BE FIERCE, KATIE and KEEP ON KEEPING ON FOR ALL GIRLS AND WOMEN!!
