Susan Fier Susan Fier is a retired Senior Marketing Professional and 26-year IBM veteran with wide-ranging experience in sales and marketing. She lives in Armonk, New York, with husband, Steve, and a Black Lab named Chelsea. Her son, Keith, lives in Bend, Oregon; her daughter, Joanna, is in New York City, Some preferred activities include bicycling, hiking, photography, and skiing. Susan participates annually in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a two-day bicycle-ride fund-raiser for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Also, she is active in her Alma Mater, Mount Holyoke College, and enjoys frequent mini-reunions. New post-retirement hobbies include bridge lessons and New York Botanical Garden courses.

Letters to My Younger Self: ‘Entering Susan in College’ — Love, Mom, 1972

To my surprise, her papers contained carbon copies of letters that she often wrote. What an amazing gift for me to find. I discovered one particular letter she wrote after delivering me to my college campus in 1972. At the time, my mother was 42 and I was the oldest of her three children, her first she saw off to college. The letter is typewritten on onion skin paper and dotted with white out. She never mailed it.
