We know this year’s Academy Awards are unlikely to be as glamorous as 1956,  when Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn were both presenters (at right, see them backstage). But they’ll be glam enough: an entire industry has grown around the gowns, the chats, the hullaballoo for what our Ro Howe aptly called   “The Super Bowl for women.”

We’re not the only ones live-blogging this, of course, but we’ll bring back reports from the others, from Twitter, and from our own Oscar parties. We hope you do too – and will even send photos!

As we asked the other day:

Will the show itself feel fresh enough, even though it’s hosted by Billy Crystal – again?

Who will be the best dressed and who will make big dress mistakes? Who will win in the Meryl vs. Glenn faceoff?

Is there a film or actor you’re rooting for? A screenwriter like Kristin Wiig, or an editor like Thelma Schoonmaker?

Each of us at WVFC has specific questions in our minds, as well as films we WISH were in competition. But we’ll actually behave as we hope you do and put them in the comments below. Let the dialogue begin!

Emma Stone’s dress has too much fabric. What is it with these outfits that overcome the women?

Has anyone noticed the men with bad facelifts? Hair plugs are one thing, but this facelift thing for men is so wierd.

Carolina Herrara so elegant and intelligent as she discusses how she works with a potential client for Academy Awards. It should be chic, should be fun and should be elegant!
