Who best to curate a list of fashionable gifts than the women of fashion we’ve profiled via our Fashion Friday series. Here are their favorite picks for gifts for the women of style and substance on your list.
Marion Fasel, who has written eight books on jewelry and has spent a lifetime in love with gems, shared “You can’t go wrong with yellow gold hoops.” She particularly loved these Gabriella Kiss 18K Large Snake Hoops. “They are easy to wear jewels that finish off an ensemble but don’t weigh you down.”
This luxurious volume, “Taffin,” showcases more than three hundred pieces designed by the imaginative French jeweler James Taffin de Givenchy. Meeling Wong, Managing Director of Jewellery for Georg Jensen shared that this is the book she can’t wait to to feast her eyes on and read.
When we asked stylist Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton about her favorite fragrance, she admitted, “I don’t usually wear a fragrance as I don’t think they last on me. However, I do really like Aerin’s Tangire Vanille.” The eau de parfum is made of Madagascar Vanilla, Italian Bergamot, Bulgarian Rose, and notes of velvety amber, smooth sandalwood and soft musk.
These Finch Eye Glasses in Bellini by Warby Parker are a favorite accessory for Michele (Mickey) Ateyeh, who is widely recognized as a leading expert for fine jewelry and designer accessories. She thinks of them as a fashion statement.
Jewelry designer Janet Hill Talbert marries her skills as a jewelry designer with Scripture passages that inspire, encourage, and uplift her—words that she had grown up with in her own Christian family as well as lessons she was discovering as she studied the Old Testament of the Bible with more depth and a new pair of eyes. “As people put on my jewelry and contemplate the scripture or symbol it carries,” says Janet, “I literally want them to feel they are arming themselves with the power of God’s love.” It is this love that is the essence of her vision and that sets her apart from other jewelry lines and designers. Janet’s designs, including the above “Loved Right Down the Middle Cuff” was recently featured on NBC’s hit show, “This is Us,” which our Dr. Cecilia Ford recently lauded for how it artfully reflects reality.
