		<description>A few memories of the private side of Grace Paley I&#039;d love to share. Grace Paley was not interested in how much she wrote, but that the writing be strong and have a message. She believed that her family was important enough to take time away from her writing. The last time I saw her was at a conference on women and leadership at Dartmouth. She had one of her daughters in tow who must have been in her late twenties or early thirties. And typical of Grace, when I told her I had developed a chronic illness, she looked horrified and touched my forehead to see if I had a temperature.
