We hope you’re planning a few more weekend getaways this season. To satisfy our puzzlement about what to pack for those two to three blissful days, we are launching a new Fashion Friday series: Summer Weekend Favorites.  As we did in our recent series Ten  Summer Indulgences, we’re asking fabulous women of fashion to let us take a peek at what’s in their weekend bags. —Ed.

Harriet Mays Powell has spent many successful years at the helm of the fashion world.  She began at Glamour magazine, went on to Elle as Senior Fashion Editor, spent four years as Fashion Editor of The New York Times Magazine, and later served six years as Fashion Director of New York magazine. In 2010 her work was nominated for two ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) awards. Now she has honed all those years of experience and taken on a new challenge: running her own company, The Look Now, an online source aimed at creating a new fashion experience.
