We thought it only fair that with Father’s Day this Sunday, we give those men in our lives a little shout-out here on Fashion Friday. While many of you may have already purchased a gift for the father/husband at home, we believe that we should celebrate the love and/or appreciation we feel year round. So, for whenever that father figure has done something special or deserves a little treat, we asked Women’s Voices friend Ridgely Brode to put together one of her fun collages to celebrate the fashionable father for us! —Ed.

I am excited to be back with some great Fashion Friday finds for Father’s Day!  I had a little help from a very chic dad, who turned me on to the (1) extra slim Brooks Brother’s dress shirts.  I love that the style comes in the classic cotton, non-iron and luxury fabrics.  I for one love the non-iron version; it allows more time for other projects!  I think every dad needs to be spoiled with a few good accessories, and at the top of that list is a great pair of shades.  I have always been a fan of (2) Persol—they come in so many great shapes and frame styles, you can’t go wrong with any of them for the dads in your life.  My dad has always worn (3) silk-knotted cufflinks, and this trio will work with many shirt/tie combinations.  I have been seeing lots of colored shoes, and red is the new neutral!  What better gift than a pair of (4) red driving shoes from Tod’s?  For the casual Friday or weekend game of tennis, I am loving the revival of the (5) BOAST shirts.  And finally, nothing says summer better than a pair of (6) Sundek Long Board shorts.   I hope you find something here that will be perfect for the dads in your life. Happy Father’s Day!

Thanks for these fun ideas. We love when you visit and share your fashion suggestions with us. I am buying those red shoes for The Husband. He will be secretly so pleased (you know the type: Suit, cuffed shirt, tie, black shoes and socks for all work days then “exercise clothes” for the weekends at home. Time for the weekends to become fashionable!

Looking at the Boast shirt, and after consulting the Boast website, I am not sure what the logo represents. Boast says it is a maple leaf. As a Vermonter I think the parts of the leaves are a little to slim to qualify as maple. Pot, maybe? or conveniently ambiguous? Interesting question!
