In her review of this year’s Tonys, Alexandra MacAaron deemed it the “Year of the Drama Queens:”
“This year’s American Theatre Wing Tony Awards celebrated an incredible array of women—not only those who gave tour de force performances onstage, but a number of inspirational real-life figures as well.”
Not only were the Tony women dazzling on the stage, they were turning heads on the red carpet as well. Three of the five Best Featured Actress Nominees, Anika Larsen, Lauren Worsham, and Linda Emond, donned jewels by our favorite legendary jeweler, Verdura. As the Tony marks its 68th year, Verdura celebrates its 75th anniversary year. And how fitting. Nobody did glamour better than the man who started it all, Duke Fulco di Verdura, jewelry designer to Hollywood stars back when Hollywood stars were synonymous with style and elegance—the likes of leading ladies like Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, and Joan Crawford. In fact, it was Dietrich who said, “I dress for the image. Not for myself, not for the public, not for fashion, not for men.” Amen.
In that spirit, we share with you the stunning Verdura adornments these Tony women paired with their fabulous gowns.
Anika Larsen, nominee, Best Featured Actress for Beautiful
Lauren Worsham, nominee, Best Featured Actress for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder
Linda Emond, nominee, Best Featured Actress for Cabaret
What she’s wearing: “Lace Drop” earclips—diamond, white topaz and yellow gold. We found its twin, minus the yellow gold, White Topaz & Diamond “Lace” Drop Earclips.
